To export your email template as a PDF file, you need to:
Step 1. Open the export settings:
Open an email template and click the "Export" button, which is located above the email template, then find the "PDF" icon;
Step 2. Choose the page format:
In the "Page Dimensions" dropdown, pick one of the formats:
A4, A3, or US Letter: standard document page sizes;
One long page – Desktop: the desktop version of your email on one long page;
One long page – Mobile: the mobile version of your email on one long page;
One long page - Desktop and Mobile (2 files): both versions as two separate PDF files in a ZIP archive;
One long page - Desktop and Mobile (1 file): both versions in a single PDF file.
Note: When you select a mobile format (One long page – Mobile or Desktop&mobile), an info message will appear reminding you to activate the mobile version in your email template via Responsive Design. Otherwise, the PDF will be exported without the mobile version.
Step 3. Set up the export options:
These options are available for all formats:
MIME Type: choose All, HTML, or AMPHTML. Choose AMPHTML if your email template contains AMP content like an accordion, carousel, feedback form, or another AMP element;
Display Message name and Sender Name: by default, the message name is taken from the email or template name field, and the sender name comes from your profile;
Export email message with links: include or exclude all links in the PDF;
Redirect link: add your own link to open after the export.
Some options depend on the format you chose:
Option | A4, A3, US Letter | One long page – Desktop | One long page – Mobile | Desktop and Mobile (1 or 2 files) |
Orientation | Yes | No | No | No |
Show background on sides | No | Yes | No | Yes (desktop version only) |
Mobile bottom margin offset | No | No | Yes | Yes |
Orientation: choose Portrait or Landscape;
Show background on sides: turn it off for a cleaner look without the email template background;
Mobile bottom margin offset: set the offset in pixels. Use a positive value if the email gets cut off at the bottom, or a negative value to remove extra white space.
Step 4. Download the file:
Click Download. The file will be saved to your browser’s Downloads folder:
For One long page - Desktop and Mobile (2 files), you’ll get a ZIP archive with two PDF files;
For all other formats, you’ll get one PDF file.
Note: If you export several emails at once, you’ll get a ZIP archive with a separate PDF file for each email.
