How to export an email template to HubSpot?

1. Export process from Stripo to HubSpot:

To export your email template from Stripo directly to HubSpot, you need to:

  • Open an email template and click the "Export" button, which is located above the email template, then find the "HubSpot" icon;


  • Enter your Export account name and click the "Next Step" button;


  • In the pop-up window, choose your App for synchronizing Stripo with your HubSpot account and click the "Choose Account" button;

  • Once you have entered your credentials, you can include the required merge tags for HubSpot export and make the template public in your project;

  • Once you click on Export, you will see a blue sign indicating the export is in the process and in case of success, you will see that the template has been successfully exported to HubSpot on green background:

  • The email template will be placed in the "Marketing" → "Email" menu tab.

  • If you export more than one email or template with the same name, you will see the following pop-up notification where you are asked to choose whether you'd like to export your newsletter as new or replace an existing one.


2. Setting up HubSpot permissions:

Important to note: Only users with HubSpot Marketing Professional and Enterprise accounts can export emails to HubSpot from Stripo.

Then ensure you have enough rights to build, view and edit templates:

To view content edits, please set up scope = content.

If your company uses a business unit, set up the right to view business units (scope = business unit view).

To find these settings, please login to your HubSpot account - open Settings tab - Integrations - Private Apps:

After this, please click on your App:

The next step, choose Auth tab please:

On this page, please scroll to Scopes tab and set up content - required. In case your company uses a business unit, set up the right to view business units (scope = business unit view).

Business Units is a paid Marketing Hub Enterprise feature. To verify, go to Settings → Account Management → Business Units — if the section exists and contains more than one unit, your account has Business Units enabled.

3. Disconnect HubSpot from Stripo:

To disconnect your HubSpot account from Stripo, click on Export button - in the pop-up window switch to Email Provider tab - enter HubSpot - click on 3 dots - press on Disconnect:



4. Disconnect Stripo app from HubSpot account:

To uninstall the Stripo app from your HubSpot account, go to Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps, find Stripo in the list, click Actions → Uninstall, and confirm. This will revoke Stripo's access to your HubSpot account. Your previously exported emails will remain in HubSpot.

If you disconnect HubSpot from Stripo, you will no longer be able to export email templates directly to HubSpot. Previously exported emails and templates in your HubSpot account will remain available and will not be deleted.

5. Troubleshooting:

  • In case you use Enterprise plan and can see such error:


please re-connect your HubSpot account to Stripo again please.

  • Also, please be advised that you need to add such a list of Merge tags to the email template, for example, to the text block, before exporting to HubSpot:

If you have any issues with the Unsubscribe link display, please after the export to HubSpot, try to set up the Unsubscribe link directly in your HubSpot account.
