How to export an email template to CleverTap?

In this article, you can find more information on exporting email templates from Stripo to CleverTap.

To export your email template from Stripo directly to CleverTap, you need to:

  • Open an email template and click the "Export" button, which is located above the email template, then find the "CleverTap" icon;

  • Enter the Export account name (it can be any name), Account ID, Passcode, select your region. Also, you can export the template as AMP; click the "Export" button:

  • To find the Account ID, Passcode and region, please press on the Projects β†’ Settings β†’ and you will find it here please:

  • Access your CleverTap account. Navigate to the left panel and select Messages β†’ Campaigns;

  • On the right side of the screen, click the "+ Campaign" button and choose Email as the campaign type;

  • You will be redirected to the campaign editor. Click the blue "Go To Editor" button to proceed;

  • Your exported email template will be placed in the "Saved Templates" menu:

  • If you export more than one email or template with the same name, you will see the following pop-up notification where you are asked to choose whether you'd like to export your newsletter as new or replace an existing one:

Export Troubleshooting:

400 Bad request error

If you see the "400 Bad request error", it may be caused by unexpected symbol(s) in Template's/Email's name.

🚧 Please be advised:

Template names can include letters, numbers (0-9), underscores (_), periods (.), hyphens (-), and spaces. Names must begin with a letter. Additionally, the template name must be unique.

403 Forbidden. Partner not whitelisted: Stripo:

When you insert correct data for the export to CleverTap such as: "Account ID", "Passcode", "Region" but receive the 403 "failed to create export account" error in Stripo - it may be related to CleverTap requirements to whitelist Stripo as a Partner for your region and project.

🚧 Resolving:

Please write directly to integrations@clevertap.com address with a request to whitelist Stripo as a partner.

When the CleverTap team confirms Stripo partnership whitelisting in your CleverTap project and region, please try to export again.
