What is plain text export?
Plain text export allows you to generate a text-only version of your email from its HTML version. It removes the HTML and CSS formatting, leaving only the text and links.
This format is useful when you need to send the plain text version of your email through your CRM or meet accessibility requirements.
How to export an email template to plain text?
To export your email template in plain text format, follow these steps:
Open the email template you want to export;
Click Export to open the export options;
Navigate to the File tab and select Plain Text;
Choose how you want to export the plain text version: as File or Copy Text.
Option 1. Export as a file:
To download the plain text version of your email, select as File and click Download:
The plain text version of your email will be downloaded as a file.
Option 2. Copy text:
To copy the plain text version of your email to the clipboard, select Copy Text and click Show text:
You can then copy the generated text and paste it wherever you need it.
Important note: When using the Copy Text option, you can export only one email template or localization at a time, and it counts as an export.
Optionally, for both export options, you can enable the Redirect link setting and provide a URL. This allows you to specify a redirect link to open after exporting the plain text version of your email.
To use this option, enable the toggle and enter the desired URL in the Redirect URL field:
