Dynamic content in emails involves tailoring the message for individual recipients through the use of special codes or tags, commonly referred to as merge tags or custom links.

These dynamic tags, also known as merge or personalization tags, act as placeholders within an email template. When the email is sent, these tags are substituted with personalized content, ensuring that each recipient receives a message that is relevant and individualized. The incorporation of dynamic tags is a common practice in email marketing campaigns, aiming to enhance engagement and deliver a more customized experience for the recipients.

What are merge tags?

The Merge Tag is a piece of code specific to an email service provider that allows you to insert unique user data from your mailing list into emails. For example, you might use merge tags to insert the recipient's name, company, or other specific information into an email template.

What are special links?

Special links are user-specified links that make it easier for the customer to choose and set frequently used links for their buttons or other parts of the templates.

Please be advised, that different email services use their own tags for displaying personalized content based on a requirement. The editor just allows adding merge tags and special links into the body of an email template. When the email template is sent to the recipient, your email service should replace these lines with the recipient's data.

In the project and group settings, you can customize such paraments as merge tags, special links, and other settings for all email templates according to your customer's needs.

How to configure the dynamic tags?

  • Switch to the "Workspace" tab, here you can choose where you would like to add it to the Project or Group, once you have determined, please go to the "Personalization";

Important note, Project settings provide the flexibility to define unique requirements for individual projects, whereas Group settings offer the ability to apply consistent configurations to all projects within the group

  • Here, the most popular email service tags like MailChimp, GetResponce, eSputnik, etc., are already added, so after you export an email to the system you use, dynamic tags are automatically replaced by the data stored in the database of the corresponding service.

  • You have the option to enable/disable these built-in dynamic tags;

  • Besides, you have the opportunity to add the tags to the existing list as well as add your own tags by clicking on "plus".

Custom tag display:

  • The "Custom tags display" feature allows you to customize the appearance of tags in the editor;

  • Once you enable the "Custom tags display" feature, the tags are displayed as follows;

  • However, if you want to see an existing tag value, then disable the "Custom tags display" feature.

How to add my own custom tags?

  • Please proceed with the Personalization tab, and navigate below to the "Custom tags" menu;

  • Here can add custom tags if the email service you need is unavailable by clicking on "plus";

  • Once added, they can be found in the same menu where the rest are, under the "Custom tags" tab;

  • Also, if you added a lot of custom tags, you can use the "merge tags search box" to save your time in searching for the desired merge tag;
