We'd like to show you how to include an "Add to Calendar" link in an HTML email using the brand-new Stripo Calendar Link Generator through these email clients:

How can I use the Stripo Calendar Link Generator?

  • So firstly, please go to the generator page;

  • Fill in the details of the upcoming meeting, such as:

    • Event Title;

    • Event Location;

    • Start date and time;

    • End date and time;

    • Timezone;

    • Description.

  • After that, you will get 4 links for different email clients, which you can copy/paste directly into the email:

    • click on the button to copy the needed event link to your clipboard;

    • you can add the generated link to the button in your template, an image, or a text block;

    • once you open an email and click on the button, it will automatically load an event page so that you can save the event to your calendar;

  • Also, you can open the link in a new window to make sure the location and dates of the event are correct:

    • click on the button to open the link;

    • check the correctness and add the event to your calendar so you don't miss anything;

  • In addition, Apple Mail deserves a special mention. Since this email client does not provide any options for adding a link other than the ICS file, we have added the ability to download this file for your clients:

    • just copy the link and add it to the button or text as we did before;

    • when your recipients click on the button, the file will be downloaded to their PC;

    • and your customers will be able to add an event to their calendar after opening the file.

As you can see, our Calendar Link Generator is easy to use and will allow you to create an event link for your HTML emails.

Create calendar links in the Stripo editor:

You can also create a calendar link right in the Stripo editor, without opening the generator. Add it to any button, image, or text in your email.

  1. Select a button, an image, or text in your email;

  2. In the Link field, open the type dropdown and choose Calendar Event Link;

  3. Fill in the event details and click Apply. Event Title and Description are required. For a recurring event, choose how often it repeats in Repeat Event;

  4. Choose a calendar: Stripo, Google, Outlook, Yahoo, Apple, or .ics;

That's it. Your element now opens the event in the calendar you chose.

Important note: If your recipients use different calendars, choose Stripo. Recipients will open an event page and add the event to the calendar they use.

Manage your events:

  • Reuse an event: select another element. In the Link field, open the type dropdown, go to the Events tab, and click your event. Then choose a calendar for this element. This way, you can link one event to several buttons, each for a different calendar.

  • Edit an event: click the pencil icon next to the link, make your changes, and click Apply. The event updates in every element that uses it, including other templates. Events that recipients have already added to their calendars won't update.

  • Remove an event from an element: In the Link field, open the type dropdown and choose another link type on the General tab, like Site. The event stays on the Events tab, so you can use it later.
